Restore balance from the ground up
Hello and a warm welcome to Foot Foundation.
My name is Romaine and I am a Level 5 practitioner in Reflexology, the highest level attainable in reflexology available here in the UK. I completed my Level 5 training at Gaia School of Natural Health and I am a member of The Association of Reflexologists. This means you can feel confident that you are receiving treatment from a qualified practitioner who follows professional standards.
My interest in health and wellbeing began early, leading me to train as a Physiotherapist in 1990. For most of my Physiotherapy career I specialised in working (in a variety of settings) with people living with chronic/advanced and life limiting conditions. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep interest in complementary holistic therapies, particularly reflexology, and I personally experienced its benefits during a period of significant change in my life. These experiences led me to change my career path and become a Reflexologist.

At Foot Foundation, my mission is to offer thoughtful reflexology that supports each person’s wellbeing from the ground up - each treatment is tailored to you as an individual, taking into account both physical and emotional wellbeing. My aim is to create a calm, truly relaxing space where you feel genuinely listened to, gently guided and deeply valued.
Reflexology is a recognised form of complementary holistic therapy which is gentle and non-invasive - the origin of which dates back to ancient times. The modern form of reflexology began to take shape in the early 1900's when Dr William Fitzgerald founded 'zone therapy.' A therapist called Eunice Ingham took Fitzgerald’s theory of zone therapy and used it to develop reflexology. She developed the ‘foot maps’ of the body - the feet, hands, face being mini maps of the body.
Reflexology is based on the theory that specific points called reflexes on the feet, hands or face correspond to structures, systems and organs throughout your body. By working these points, reflexology can stimulate the body’s natural balance and relaxation response.
It is suitable for all ages, from babies to adults in their later years.
Reflexology works alongside conventional health care as a supportive therapy, but it does not diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions.
